a bright, summery look inspired by a rouge recipe from 1896, fittingly named ‘liquid bloom of roses’. these non-toxic tints were typically applied to the lips and cheeks with fingers or a handkerchief and hardly budge once settled on the skin. can you still get it today? yes!
this makeup consists of heavy pink blush and freckles, highlight (particularly on the eyelids and inner corners), little eyebags, and a shiny red lip that resembles a stain rather than a true lipstick.
