❉ Gates of Tartarus ❉

Hello! In case there is any confusion this mod makes it so your standard eyes look like the enshroud eyes without the sacrifice of any sculpts or teeth mods!
That said there are some shortcomings due to the nature of this mod and I will need to instruct those without the knowledge of how to edit it in case they wish for colors that aren’t red (yes it’s possible!)

First and foremost is the lack of black sclera. Like I said this operates like “normal” eyes so you’ll still have the normal sclera color for your selected race, in order to get a true enshroud look you’ll need to edit your face texture to have black sclera on your own, or find a mod that does it for you of which there are plenty!

Second is how to change the color, which requires the use of TexTools. I’ll explain in a step by step process!
1. Open TexTools
2. Navigate via the “By Category” tab under the Item List
3. Character > Face > “Insert desired race”
4. Navigate the Face Number drop down to find your desired face (Can be confirmed by looking at the Model page)
5. Once face has been found navigate the Material drop down menu until you find “Material: IRI A”
6. Once you’ve found the eye textures navigate the Texture Map Drop Down menu until you find “Colorset”
7. In the Colorset tab you’ll be greeted with 16 rows of colors on the left and then a color array in the middle. Navigate to the row numbered “13” by clicking on it
8. Click the “Emissive Color” box and you’ll be greeted by 2 different tabs titled “Standard” and “Advanced” for picking your desired color.
9. After choosing your desired color navigate to row 15 and do the same until you’re satisfied.
10. After you are done MAKE SURE TO HIT SAVE ON THE TOP RIGHT
11. You are finished! Congrats on your new color!

Some tips for this process:
Do not use the Standard Tab for picking your colors, I’d recommend using the Advanced Tab for the simple fact that you can grab the rainbow colored slider and find the color you want without changing it’s Saturation and Brightness and only changing the hue. The reason I say this is because The FFXIV Team carefully picked their Emissive colors to get the correct look they were looking for. While you can still certainly do this the way you desire, and even mix and match colors if you want, the simple fact is if you deviate too much it won’t look “Right” for all intents and purposes. So please colorset carefully!

My other tip is in regards to making a modpack in case you use Penumbra and don’t want the mod to be loaded through TexTools. In order for this to work properly you must ensure you **only install the eye textures assosciated with your desired face** (Otherwise it’ll be more messy then necessary)
After you are done changing your colors and made sure you saved, navigate to the top right and select “Mods” and then “Create Modpack” and choose “Basic Modpack”
If you were careful not to install anything additional it’ll **only** show the files that are changed by mods or alternative textures, i.e. the files you want. Simply “Select All” give it some cute name and author name and then select save whilst ignoring any dialogue boxes that popup (Most likely referring to the version number which it’ll automatically set anyways)
After that navigate to your Documents > TexTools > Modpacks > “Name of created modpack” and then either keep in mind where it is or put it wherever you usually store your mods so you can load it into penumbra!

【FAQ】

Q: “I followed your instructions but I’m still confused! Where did I go wrong?”
A: I tried my best to be as clear as possible in how to successfully change the colorset of this mod, although I understand that I don’t have the best communicative abilities so it’s entirely possible people are still confused. I’d strongly recommend seeking help from the TexTools for any future questions if I myself am not able to answer anything via Twitter

Q: “Lalafell?”
A: Yes. Dubious babies.
